Cross-sectional study of quality of life in relation with vascular access in hemodialysis patients

Introduction: Vascular access for hemodialysis (HD) is essential the patient. Even though Arteriovenous fistula (AVF) preferred access, in certain age groups, central venous catheter (CVC) may provide advantages. This study aims to investigate quality of life related vascular access. Methods: Cross-sectional including patients from a hospital, home HD unit and satellite center. Clinical data was collected patients, who went through quality-of-life questionnaire SF12 Access Questionnaire (VAQ). Results: 91 participated, mostly male (70%), with mean 68.9 ± 16.2 years.
